Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

:

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the company. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance and Accounting. The responsibility of the Bookkeeper is to be the primary financial record keeper for MJK Sales and Feed, Inc. They are responsible for maintaining the financial records of MJK by accurately recording the day to day financial transactions of our company. The bookkeeper records and maintains the daily and monthly financial transactions for MJK Sales and Feed, Inc. They will verify, allocate and post details of business transaction to computer files from documents, such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, check stubs and computer printouts. These duties may include processing payroll, managing the Accounts Receivable, and processing accounts payable. They will prepare the financial records that are reviewed and used by MJK Sales and Feed's CPA Firm. They will work with our outside CPA Firm to prepare tax returns and yearend financial statements.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile daily cash
  • Make daily deposits
  • Manage and reconcile bank accounts
  • Post Journal Entries
  • Manage and reconcile bankcard recaps
  • Post Customers payments
  • Manages Accounts Receivable
  • Prepare and send customer statements by end of monthly cycle
  • Start debt collection procedures for overdue accounts
  • Contact customers regarding overdue accounts and do follow ups
  • Collection of overdue accounts including small claims court
  • Completes and records sales tax returns
  • Help the Accounts Payable Clerk process payables, file, and write checks
  • Use Excel and Word for the preparation of bookkeeping spreadsheets and general correspondence.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily office operations, including filing, data entry, scanning, etc.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of payroll for the company's employees.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
