Senior Electrical Designer – Electrical Systems | Orlando, FL | Senior-Level
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer with strong technical expertise in electrical system design and a proven ability to lead projects with minimal supervision. This on-site role, based in Orlando, FL , is responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design solutions in alignment with client requirements and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of applicable codes and experience mentoring junior designers while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
What You’ll Do
Perform advanced electrical design and engineering calculations in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
Lead the design process for electrical systems across various commercial and industrial project types.
Prepare complete, coordinated construction documents and design specifications.
Participate in project planning, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure design accuracy and completeness.
Supervise and mentor junior designers and engineering staff.
Conduct quality control reviews and ensure deliverables meet project and industry standards.
Engage in client meetings, site visits, and technical discussions.
Support cross-discipline coordination and integration.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, or
Associate degree with 10+ years of supervised electrical design experience, or
11+ years of relevant practical experience in electrical systems design.
EIT preferred; PE license or path to licensure a plus.
Strong knowledge of NEC, IBC, and other applicable building codes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet fast-paced deadlines.
