Job Description

About Manifest Financial, Inc.

Manifest Financial offers tailored financial solutions designed specifically for entrepreneurs and the platforms they use. Operating as a B2B2C platform, Manifest addresses the business banking needs of creators and micro-businesses, with a focus on simplifying financial challenges and boosting engagement within the creator economy. Our services are tailored to creators and social platforms by solving unique financial pain points and fostering thriving communities.

About the Role

We are looking for a UI/UX designer to join us as our first dedicated design hire.  As our first in-house designer, you’ll build on the existing product design, working to improve, expand, and evolve the experience as we grow. In addition to ownership of product design and user experience, you’ll have the opportunity to refine and add to the product’s design systems and visual identity. Your role will be crucial in helping creators and sole proprietors navigate complex financial tasks with ease and simplicity.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design features that address user needs, improve usability, and help define scalable design practices for the future. This is a mostly remote role, but there may be times where you will need to report onsite and travel for team meetings (this role needs to be local to Austin or Los Angeles). The role can expect to travel less than 25%. This role can be located in Los Angeles, CA or Austin, TX. This is a full time (W-2) role (sorry no C2C/1099).

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Design End-to-End: Improve and expand upon existing user flows, interfaces, and branding to meet the needs of our growing user base
  • Simplify Complexity: Translate complicated financial workflows like banking, business setup, and taxes into simple, user-friendly experiences
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the CTO, engineers, product managers, and the executive team to define the product vision, shape the roadmap, and influence high-level strategy
  • Develop Scalable Design Systems: Build and maintain a design system that ensures consistency and scalability as the product and team grow
  • Advocate for the User: Conduct user research and testing to understand creators’ needs and ensure we’re solving real problems
  • Contribute to Branding: Help define and evolve the visual identity of the company to resonate with our audience of creators and small business owners
  • Iterate Quickly: Balance speed and quality to deliver impactful work on tight deadlines in a startup environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven Design Experience: 5+ years in UI/UX or product design, must have a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to create intuitive, beautiful, and functional digital experiences. Must have experience with Figma.
  • User-Centric Approach: Deep empathy for users, especially creators and entrepreneurs, and a desire to solve their challenges with thoughtful design
  • Strong Visual and Interaction Design Skills: You have an eye for detail and can craft elegant, usable interfaces and interactions
  • Experience with Growing Products: Familiarity with designing for products that are scaling or expanding in scope
  • Systems Thinking: You can create and maintain scalable design systems and patterns to support product consistency
  • Collaborative and Communicative: You thrive in cross-functional environments, working effectively with engineers, product managers, and executives
  • Startup Mindset: You’re comfortable with ambiguity, can take initiative, and are adaptable to the fast pace of a startup

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience designing financial or creator-focused tools
  • Familiarity with mobile and web development concepts
  • Experience with branding or visual identity design

What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance (HSA & FSA accounts available)
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Generous PTO
  • 13 Paid Holidays
  • Health advocacy assistance services through Health Advocate
  • One Medical Membership (where available)
  • Health & Wellness with Talkspace
  • Fertility Benefits with KindBody
  • Fitness Benefits with Peloton
  • Commuter Benefits
  • A collaborative, dynamic and inclusive work environment
  • Flexible working hours (office location in Los Angeles, and remote team in Austin with occasional office meetings)

Salary range transparency $90,000 - $125,000 (depending on location and experience)

Come As You Are:

At Manifest Financial we are passionate about empowering the creative community through innovative fintech solutions. We recognize that creativity thrives in diverse, inclusive environments, and we are committed to fostering a workplace that reflects this belief.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We celebrate diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to race, color, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

How to Apply:

Submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you’re a great fit for this role. Personalization and creativity are highly encouraged to showcase how your experience aligns with the specialized requirements of this role.

Note: Use of AI tools to draft your application materials will not be considered. Statements copied from a position description or other reference material will result in loss of consideration for the role. Your responses should reflect your genuine experience and understanding of the role.
