João Silva (1993) is a Portuguese bass-baritone. He began his musical studies as a trumpet player, playing in a wind band for 18 years. At the age of 22, he embarked on his singing career under the guidance of teacher Carla Pais, and since then, he has performed with various choirs and ensembles, interpreting a wide range of music, from Renaissance to contemporary, mainly in the Netherlands and Portugal. He participated in masterclasses with Teru Yoshihara, Henk Neven, Stratton Bull, Ana Paula Russo, Pierre Mak, and Susan Waters, and collaborated with conductors such as Paul Agnew, Daniel Reuss, Jos Vermunt, Stratton Bull, Tiago Oliveira, among others. In 2023, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in singing from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where he studied with teachers Gerda van Zelm and Frans Fiselier, and also completed a minor in choral conducting with Jos Vermunt.
